The Deo Ad – Really Creative! – “People Move Away When You Have Body Odour”.

Life-size stickers of people were stuck on automatic sliding glass doors at a mall in Mumbai, India. When someone approaches the doors move apart and it feels like the people on the door are moving away. The person enters to find the message ‘People Move Away When You Have Body Odour’.

In a country where ghosts are traditionally believed to hide in the loo, a Japanese company is advertising a new literary experience – a horror story printed on toilet paper.

Each roll carries several copies of a new nine-chapter novella written by Koji Suzuki, the Japanese author of the horror story `Ring,` which has been made into movies in both Japan and Hollywood.

`Drop,` set in a public restroom, takes up about three feet (90 centimeters) of a roll and can be read in just a few minutes, according to the manufacturer, Hayashi Paper.

The company promotes the toilet paper, which will sell for 210 yen ($2.20) a roll, as “a horror experience in the toilet.”

Toilets in Japan were traditionally tucked away in a dark corner of the house due to religious beliefs. Parents would tease children that a hairy hand might pull them down into the dark pool below.

HOUSTON: A decommissioned Navy warship USNS General Hoyt S Vandenberg has been intentionally sunk off the Florida Keys to create the world’s second largest artificial reef which will serve as a long-term habitat for several marine fish species.

The 17,250-tonne ship USNS Vandenberg sank in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary on Wednesday in less than two minutes, said Andy Newman, spokesman for the Florida Keys Tourism Council.

“It went down like a rock,” Newman was quoted as saying by CNN. “Everything looked very, very smooth.”

The goal of the $8.6 million project is to divert fishing and diving pressure away from natural reefs, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The Vandenberg was built in 1943. It was commissioned as a World War II troop transport ship. After Japan surrendered, the Vandenberg was the first Navy ship to return to New York Harbour.

During the 1950s, the ship was used to transport refugees from Europe and Australia to America. In the 1960s the Air Force used the Vandenberg to track missiles. It also was used to track rockets and early space shuttle launches.

The ship, which was decommissioned in 1986, featured in the 1999 movie Virus, starring Donald Sutherland and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The age-old love triangle of Archie comics has finally been broken, after Riverdale’s ultimate playboy Archie Andrews the beloved, freckled protagonist of the Archie comic books picked the vixen Veronica over girl-next-door Betty to be his wife.

So what if Betty was a blonde, loyal and kind- when it came to popping the question Archie chose the raven-haired, charming and rich Veronica.

After 67 years of being in a dilemma, Archie – the eternal teenager is all set to tie the knot with the vixen-a choice that left many Archie comic fans in gasps.

Archie Comic Publications announced on May 27 that the flighty redhead from Riverdale picked Veronica over Betty Cooper.

Already in mid-May, the publisher sent speculation swirling when it announced a special marital-themed storyline for release in August, but didn’t reveal the lucky lady.

The wedding will take place after the gang graduate from college, and venture out into the working world.

However, the response to the proposal has been markedly divided-Betty fans are outraged that the girl next door has been ditched yet again for the beautiful, yet spoilt, Ronnie.

While many fans are questioning whether Archie should marry at all, because it could mean a possible end to the enduring comic-book soap opera.

The cover of Archie Comics (issue 600) shows Archie proposing to Veronica.

I am talking about the blog search industry. This industry continues to battle a number of unresolved issues that need to be address. The Google Blog Search, launched in 2005, has failed to gain authoritative market share.

Unlike most competitors to Google, Technorati still seems to have a legitimate shot at beating Google in its niche. And though some traffic analysis sites have reported that Google Blog Search is edging out Technorati in terms of search traffic, they also note that more than half of that traffic stems from links on Google News.

Media Evangelist Simon Owens has written a good piece about Google and Technorati’s blog search. Going through his article, you can feel that there’s likely a room for somebody new.

Having a good website program manager is one of the secret formulas of getting a good working website. Please note that here I am talking about really big websites. so… we were discussing the program manager for a good working website…And you probably don’t have one on your website team, because most web teams don’t.

I am citing one very blatant example of lack of co-ordination between design and development teams of a website project which resulted into site getting the google’s famous grey bar in google tool bar. You might be thinking of how lack of co-ordination between project teams can cause a website to get grey bar… so here is the case…

The design team worked on specifications provided by marketing team and designed a corporate website, simultaneously, the development team also worked on functional specifications and developed the website… they synced the versions and launched the website. The issue was noticed after google’s page rank refresh when a few pages of the website got grey bar… ( Though it could have been detected much earlier, if they would have looked upon the webmaster account of google where it shows the indexation stats, referrers, redirect issues etc)

so when I got a chance to look upon the site, I came to know that in the entire website all the links are showing 301 redirects… when I went indepth then came to know that while linking the website the designers linked relative pages rather than linking final destination urls of the intended pages. The developers after doing canonicalization through .htaccess didn’t botherd to co-ordinate with designers on link issue.

Ideally the scenario should be like this:

release

Google might be thinking of what a fool these people are… on one side they are applying .htaccess redirecting the page to directory and on the otherhand while linking the pages they are giving the page link instead of final destination link. Nevertheless, teams got to know about this and they corrected all the anomalies. In the next page rank refresh, all the pages get page rank and their grey status is resolved.

Cops say boxing legend Mike Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter is in extremely critical condition right now at an Arizona hospital, after a freak accident involving a treadmill cord almost took her life.

tysondaughters

Paramedics were called to Tyson’s Phoenix home at around 10:30 this morning when his 7-year-old son found the young girl hanging from a treadmill by its power cable. The boy alerted the girl’s mother in another room. Her mother called 911 and tried to revive her, according to the AP. Mike Tyson was said to be in Las Vegas at the time of the accident, but has returned home.

The girl’s mother took her off the cable and immediately started CPR.

Paramedics eventually arrived and took the girl to St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, where cops say she remains on life support in “extremely critical condition.” Tyson has since arrived to the hospital.

As of now, cops believe the incident was a “tragic accident.” Her case is like it would cause her to stop breathing without a respirator so doctors are taking every step and due precautions for her to be saved.
